Prof. Bireswar Banerjee, former Emeritus Professor of Geography, University of Calcutta and the former Editor and Vice-President of the Geographical Society of India has passed away on June 17, 2017.
Prof. Subhash Chandra Mukhopadhyay, former Emeritus Fellow, Department of Geography, University of Calcutta, the Vice-President of the Geographical Society of India and prime organiser of the Institute of Landscape, Ecology and Ekistics (ILEE), Kolkata has passed away on June 23, 2017.
The Department of Geography, University of Calcutta, The Geographical Society of India and the ILEE will organise a meeting to condole the sad demise of Prof. Banerjee and Prof. Mukhopadhyay on Tuesday, the 11th July, 2017 at 4.00 p.m. in Prof. S. P. Chatterjee Memorial Hall, Department of Geography, University of Calcutta.
