N O T I C E
An Extra-Ordinary General Meeting will be held on Friday, the 22nd November, 2019 at 4.45 p.m. to consider the amendments of the Rules of the Society as proposed by the Council and to adopt such amendments, if necessary, with or without modifications. Smt. Suprova Ray will preside. The meeting will be held at the Department of Geography, Calcutta University.
Members are earnestly requested to attend the meeting.

PRESENT POSITION AND PROPOSED AMENDMENTS OF THE RULES OF THE SOCIETY
Present Position : (under Council and Officers)
Rule 21 – The election of officers and other members of the council shall take place at the Annual General Meeting of the Society.
Amended Position :
Rule 21 – The election of officers and other members of the council shall take place at an interval of 2 years at the Annual General Meeting of the Society.
Present Position : (under Annual General Meeting)
Rule 34 (a)(i) : …. to elect the office bearers and members of the council for the ensuing year.
Amended Position :
Rule 34 (a)(i) : …. to elect the office bearers and members of the council for the ensuing two years. Once the officer-bearers and members are elected, they will continue for two consecutive years.
