Memberships of the Geographical Society of India are categorized as (1) Ordinary fellow, (2) Life fellow (Indian and Foreign) and (3) Institutional member (Indian and Foreign). In order to become an ordinary / a life fellow, the person has to apply in prescribed form along with requisite fees. The prescribed form may be obtained from the office of the society or may be downloaded from the society’s website – www.geographicalsocietyofindia.org.in
To get institutional membership the authorized person of an institute may write to the society for invoice.Agents/booksellers may also collect invoice for an institution. They will get agency discount@12.5 percent on subscription but they have to submit institutional address to which the journals are to be sent. If an agent fails to submit the client’address, he should communicate to the effect that the journals are for use in India. Under the circumstances discount will be denied to such agent.
As per resolution of the Council of The Geographical Society of India the rate of subscription payable for different categories of membership with effect from 1st April, 2017 be as follows :

(1) Admission fee is applicable only for starting year.
(2) Life membership fee may be paid in two instalments of Rs.12,500/- (initially) and Rs.8,000/- (finally).
(3) Agency discount is allowed @12.50 per cent on subscription only.
(4) Payment is to be made on-line or by Cash / Multi-city Cheque in favour of ‘The Geographical Society India”.
